Spring is always a busy time at Holland ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ – classes are wrapping up and students who are completing their programs are getting ready to graduate. Usually, the college holds several graduation ceremonies to accommodate graduates from almost 60 programs across the province. This year, however, it will be even busier as the college prepares to celebrate not only the 2021 graduates, but the 2020 graduates as well. This will be done in separate ceremonies.
“Plans for graduation ceremonies last year were cancelled due to the pandemic, but the college was determined to hold a celebration as soon as it was safe to do so,” said Holland ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ President Dr. Alexander (Sandy) MacDonald.
“The college is working closely with the province’s Chief Public Health Officer to ensure our graduation ceremonies are safe for everyone in attendance,” he said. “We are delighted to be able to welcome back as many 2020 graduates as possible to celebrate their accomplishments.”
There will be two ceremonies for the Class of 2020. The first will take place on the Summerside Waterfront Campus for graduates from programs located on the West Prince Campus and the Summerside Waterfront Campus on May 14 at 1:30 p.m.
The second graduation for the Class of 2020 will take place on the Prince of Wales Campus and is for graduates of programs located in the Tourism and Culinary Centre, the Georgetown Centre, and those programs based on the Prince of Wales Campus. The date has been tentatively set as May 18 but may change depending on how many graduates would like to attend.
All 2020 graduates must submit a notice to attend form, which is available in the Graduation Hub on the Holland ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ website.
There will be six days of graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2021, the first is on May 14 and the final graduation will take place on July 15.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, guests will not be permitted at any of the in-person graduation ceremonies this year; but the ceremonies will be live streamed. A link to the live stream will be available on the Graduation Information Hub.
