Holland ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ staff and students will host a fundraising dinner at the Tourism and Culinary Centre on Friday, January 29.
Net proceeds of the dinner will go to the PEI Association for Newcomers to Canada to assist Syrian refugees as they settle on PEI. Austin Clement, program manager of culinary and hospitality programs at The Culinary Institute of Canada said college staff and students are looking forward to the event, not only to raise funds to help the refugees, but also to show them that they are welcome on the Island.
“This event is called Walking with You: A Journey of Love. We want to ensure that the newest members of our Island community know that they have a safe, friendly place to start their new lives,” he said.
Dinner guests will enjoy an array of fine food and entertainment showcasing the talents of college staff and students. There will also be a silent auction and 50/50 draw. The silent auction and a reception will start at 6 p.m., dinner will be at 6:30.
