SoPA signs agreement with Berklee ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ of Music

Holland ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ, one of the 19 partner schools in the Berklee ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ of Music’s International Network, has signed an articulation agreement that will allow its students to transfer credits into Berklee ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ of Music after two years of study in the Holland ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ School of Performance Arts Music Performance program.

Based in Boston with a second campus in Valencia, Spain, Berklee is the world’s foremost institute of contemporary music. Berklee alumni have been awarded 253 Grammy Awards.

Under the terms of the agreement between the two institutions, graduates from the Holland ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Music Performance program may receive up to 52 of the 120 credits required for Berklee’s Bachelor of Music degree.

Alan Dowling, head of the Music Performance program, and a Berklee alumnus himself, said degree pathways such as this one enable the students to pursue their career and educational aspirations beyond their two years at Holland ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ.

“These agreements open doors for our graduating students, providing access to further education and training while acknowledging what they have already accomplished at Holland ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ,” he said.

Holland ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ vice president Michael O’Grady said the articulation agreement further strengthens the college’s relationship with Berklee.

“As a partner in Berklee’s International Network, we are delivering core curriculum that meets the exacting standards of this prestigious college. This articulation agreement brings our two institutions even more closely in line, enabling us to offer our students an almost seamless transition from one to the other, and it also represents an amazing opportunity to study with the best musicians in the world,” he said.

The School of Performing Arts is a partnership between Holland ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ and Confederation Centre of the Arts. Find out more about this articulation agreement and the more than 140 other agreements Holland ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ has with post-secondary institutions all over the world here.
