Holland ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ presented three staff members with awards for their outstanding contributions to the college during the annual Staff Appreciation Day activities held in Summerside recently.
The Staff Excellence Award, which is presented to a staff member who has made an exceptional contribution within Holland ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ and the communities it serves, was presented to Brenda Perry from the Admissions Department of the Waterfront Campus.
Lowell Murray a service worker at the Marine Training Centre, received the Facilities Support Services Excellence Award, which honors a facilities staff member who demonstrates exemplary performance and has made invaluable contributions within their department or unit.
The Teaching Excellence award was presented to Doug Kelly a math and physics instructor for programs in the Applied Science and Engineering Technology department. This award honors a faculty member who has exhibited consistent excellence in teaching and has had a significant impact on the personal and academic growth of students.
Holland ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ president Dr. Brian McMillan said this year’s recipients exemplify the work ethic of Holland ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ staff and faculty.
“Each of this year’s winners have demonstrated a deep commitment to Holland ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ, to our students, and to the greater community. They are the embodiment of all that is exemplary about our employees,” he said.
Recipients for the awards are selected from nominations by fellow staff and faculty members.
