Photography students win Bridgestone competition

Photography and Digital Imaging students Vanessa Cole, Mike Bernard and Andrew Eisnor submitted images for the competition, which is by invitation only. This year, 285 students competed in 11 colleges across Canada. The Bridgestone Photo Contest, inaugurated in 2002 by BSCA aims to communicate the company's commitments to the community, environment and safety. The student photographers' challenge is to use their imaginations and photographic skills to convey one of the contest themes.

The 2010 Bridgestone Student Photography Competition is an invitation only event with 11 colleges from across Canada participating. This year there were 471 entries from 285 students. Holland ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ first place winner, Mike Bernard, received $1,500, second place winner Andrew Eisnor received $1,000, and third place winner Vanessa Cole received $500.

"It is a challenging and fun competition among the colleges, bringing some much-appreciated cash to the winning students" said Alex Murchison, instructor for the Photography and Digital Imaging program. "We encourage our students to enter competition, as it's a great way for them to start promoting their work to a broader audience."
