Student awards night


One hundred and three students received scholarships, bursaries and awards, totaling over $58,840.00 at the recent Holland ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Student Awards Night. Sponsored by Pepsi Bottling Group, the ceremony was held on January 31 at The Tourism and Culinary Centre in Charlottetown.

Holland ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ scholarships, bursaries and awards are available to students in good standing who are registered in college programs. The awards are based on specific criteria determined by the donor and students are permitted to apply for one or more of the available awards. In total, approximately $175,000 is awarded annually to Holland ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ students.

"The selection committees chose 103 students for recognition out of 2,000 applications," said Sylvia Poirier, registrar of Holland ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ and emcee for the evening.

"The evening could not have been possible without the generosity of individuals, businesses and organizations who have contributed to the Holland ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Foundation," said Jim MacPhee, Chairperson of the Holland ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Foundation Board of Directors. "The college greatly appreciates their support of our students."
