DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Canada’s Smartest Kitchen (CSK) is seeking applications to Create a List of Building Cleaners to fill in as required.  The incumbent will: 

  • Clean, scrub, and sanitize cooktops, fryers, ovens, exhaust hoods, kitchen equipment, surfaces and walls.
  • Sweep and mop floors in kitchen, lab, hallway, and stairwell areas.
  • General cleaning of office areas and washrooms including emptying and sanitizing garbage containers and workspaces, washing/scrubbing floors and walls, vacuuming, and cleaning/sanitizing toilets and sinks.
  • Sort and dispose of waste in accordance with IWMC guidelines.
  • Operate and dishwasher throughout the day, ensure dishwashing area is clean and sanitary, and return items to storage areas.
  • Observe safety precautions while on duty and report any potential hazards to supervisor.
  • Utilize various industrial and safety equipment as required.
  • Ability to work effectively in an environment subject to frequently changing priorities.
  • Maintain daily cleaning and sanitizing logs.
  • Other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Grade 12 diploma or recognized equivalent is preferred.
  • Ability to perform all physical duties of the job as required for operating and maintaining the facility.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow oral/written instructions and coordinate workflow.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimum supervision as well as the ability to work in a team setting.
  • Understands and follows WHMIS guidelines and labels and Holland ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Standard of Cleaning policies and procedures.
  • WHMIS & First Aid Certification will be considered assets.
